MUSIC Bringing back New Wave Goth Synth Pop with Manchester's Pale Waves and their latest release

Pale Waves released their debut single, ‘There's A Honey’ earlier this year after being signed to the same label as The 1975 & Wolf Alice, Dirty Hit records.

After the band sent a demo to the label, Dirty Hit decided to take them on and help produce their album.

Singer, Heather Baron-Gracie told NME, “After we hooked up with Dirty Hit we sent them ‘There’s A Honey’, then they got in touch and were like, ‘Let us just produce it…”

Pale Waves combine classic pop elements with catchy synth & guitar licks over an electronic drum beat. Very reminiscent of the stylistic 80’s vibe.

Whilst they don’t incorporate the darker side of New Wave into their sound, it still feels like a homage to the long gone 80’s cult genre.
