The fast food giant, famous for its beefy Big Mac, have announced they will start selling a McVegan burger across hundreds of restaurants in the Scandinavian countries of Sweden and Finland starting from December 28 2017.
They tested the burger out in a handful of locations in October this year and after positive feedback, they have decided to launch the burger as a permanent option on the menu.
The burger actually looks like, well, a burger! For years, many veggies and vegans have had to settle for bean burgers, lettuce and a sad solitary soggy tomato.
The meatless burger has been developed in partnership with a Norwegian food company called Orkla. Veganism is becoming an ever growing popular lifestyle and we could well see this chain launch the burger across other European locations.
"As the main ingredient is plant-based, the McVegan is considered to have a smaller climate impact," McDonald's said.
